InHibit Announces Release of Much-Anticipated Debut Alt Rock EP

Following his radio hits, The Quest, Shadows of Fire and Settings, InHibit is finally ready to unleash his debut EP, Blinded. Having received media attention from around the world, electro alt-rock artist InHibit debut EP arrives at the same time as the release’s pivotal track, Shame on Humans and its Hollywood production values and startling imagery. With a strong 90s alternative rock feel combined with electronic washes of sound straight from the 1980s, there is an urgency and vitality which is 100% 2021!

In this EP, just like in every song I make, my thoughts, my mind and myself are injected into the words. It's more than just notes and text. I'm glad to have been able to make 3 music videos for this EP. The Quest and Shadows of Fire both show a very hypocritical society. They really translate into images what my voice is claiming in the songs. For Shame On Humans, I decided to take a more abstract approach - there's a lot of wickedness, and nastiness in the music video and I went for something much more cinematographic, with quite a few sound effects implemented through the song in the video.

Taking his cue from some of the most influential alt-rock acts of the past four decades, InHibit is looking to establish him as one of the most challenging new acts to emerge from Europe. Combining ear-twisting melodies, a healthy slug of guitar, waves of electro atmosphere and thought-provoking, often controversial videos, it’s the perfect introduction to the world for InHibit, who has already earmarked himself as one to watch over the coming months.

Based in Brussels, 21-year-old singer and composer, InHibit (Noah Roovers), is something of an enigma, describing himself primarily as a poet, though he has studied the piano since he was only five years old. A former racing driver and a qualified lawyer, InHibit’s music and visuals are as unconventional as his background. His family background saw his grandfather selling clothes to members of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones on Portabello Road at the height of the swingin’ sixties, as well as counting Oliver Reed as a friend, so it’s clear that the maverick spirit continues to live on in Noah! The video to his first single, The Quest, presented him as a true outsider – decorated with some stunning, perhaps even startling, scarification (which he is keen to point out, is make-up, not real!). With over 460,000 YouTube views since its release, The Quest was joined by Shadows of Fire, another video that matches its high production values with a universal message about the dangers of believing everything you see and read on social media.

I think the name of the EP doesn't need to be explained. And it's perhaps one of the very few words that are capable of establishing some sort of connection between my songs.

Musically touching upon the guitars and vocals of the late 90s alt-rock scene but also incorporating blasts of electronic sound from the 80s and the present day, InHibit is looking to bring both his deep lyrical content and themes which challenge our views to a world audience. His first book is to be released shortly, as well as a collection of his poetry. Inhibit’s EP, Blinded, is to be released on 19th March.
