Analog Pitching – Too Inconsistent or Just Misunderstood?

So I revisited Analog Pitching in The Show 25, and I’mlb stubsm torn.


On one hand, I love the concept. Using the right stick to simulate a full throwing motion feels immersive, and when you get it right, it’s incredibly satisfying. On the other hand, it’s wildly inconsistent if you’re even slightly off in your motion.


The idea is that you flick the stick downward to start the windup, then forward to release the pitch, angling based on where you want it to go. The issue is that it’s very sensitive to input variations. If your forward flick isn’t perfectly straight, the pitch veers off target. And fastballs can sail if you flick too fast or slow.


That said, it’s not unplayable. I think the people who master Analog are just really dedicated. It rewards muscle memory and smooth inputs, which takes time to develop. If you’re using a high-end controller and sitting close to the screen, it’s probably more consistent than it was in older versions.


For offline Franchise games or for those who want that tactile “feel” of pitching, Analog might be worth investing in. But for competitive play? I’d stick to Pinpoint or Meter. There’s too much at stake to risk shanking a pitch because of a bad flick.


Still, I’d love to hear from anyone who uses Analog regularly. Are there specific pitchers or settings that make it easier? Or is it just muscle memory and practice?
